Table of Contents
The Wireless tab is very similar to the Charts tab, however it displays charts only for devices that have sFlowTrend-Pro has identified as 802.11 wireless access points. The Wireless tab includes charts that display 802.11 specific data in addition to the basic charts available in the Charts tab.
This tab includes a control bar that allows you to select the wireless access point (WAP) and radio for which you would like to analyse and view traffic data, and the type of chart to display.
The Wireless tab includes the same time selection, filtering, and chart interaction features as the Charts tab, see Chapter 3, Charts for details.
To view data on network traffic flowing through a specific WAP, use the WAP selector in the control bar to select the WAP that you are interested in. The WAP selector lists only the devices that have been identified by sFlowTrend-Pro to have 802.11 radios. sFlowTrend-Pro identifies 802.11 radios from the ifType information exported by sFlow. A WAP is listed using its SNMP IP address, sFlow agent address, DNS Name or sysName (see Section 13.4.1, “Setting the switch, interface, and host naming policy”).
The WAP selector in sFlowTrend-Pro
also includes an option All WAPs.
When you select All WAPs, the resulting
charts display the overall traffic through all the WAPs in the
network, such that, if traffic crosses multiple WAPs, the traffic
is counted only once.
If you would like to restrict the analysis to specific
WAPs, you can do so by using a filter, for example:
agent == "10.0.0.247" || agent = "10.0.0.246", where 10.0.0.247
and 10.0.0.246 are the sFlow agent addresses of the WAPs that
you are interested in (see
Section 3.2.2.4, “Filtering for specific traffic”
for more information of filtering).
The All WAPs option is
not available if the current chart selection is set to
set to WAP frame counters,
WAP control frame counters,
WAP error counters,
WAP associated stations,
WAP QoS counters,
Counters or
Utilization.
WAPs shown in italics in the selection list are
disabled, meaning that data is not being stored for these
switches (see Section 13.2, “Configuring agents in sFlowTrend-Pro ” for
information on enabling and disabling switches and WAPs).
Changing the WAP
selection causes a chart for the newly selected WAP to be
displayed.
To view data on network traffic flowing through a specific radio, use the Radio selector in the control bar to select the radio that you are interested in. The Radio selector lists the radios for the currently selected WAP, for which sFlow data is being received and stored. A radio is listed using its ifIndex, ifName, or ifAlias. (see Section 13.4.1, “Setting the switch, interface, and host naming policy”). Changing the radio selection causes a chart for the newly selected radio to be displayed.
The Radio selector also contains an option All. Selecting this option allows you to view traffic flows through the whole device (across all interfaces and radio ports). This option is not available if the current chart selection is set to WAP frame counters, WAP control frame counters, WAP error counters, WAP associated stations, WAP QoS counters, Counters or Utilization, since these charts can only display data for a single interface.
